Motivational Monday #27

I remember being so disappointed when it didn't work out with Aaron's re-enlistment. I was so sure that staying in the military was the right choice for our family. I was even more devastated when Aaron was dropped from the CHP (California Highway Patrol) application process with no explanation as to why. I couldn't understand why the Lord was not making these things work out for our family. Looking back, I am so grateful the Lord had a different, and much better, plan for our family. His plan has lead us a new state and a new job. We can now look back and see why the Lord's plan is a much better fit for our family.

Sometimes we have a plan all laid out, however, it may not align with the plan the Lord has for us. Remember, His plan will always be better.

Clothing, Covering, and Linen in the Scriptures #2. Coats of Skin

Genesis 3:21 (Moses 4:27) “Unto Adam and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skin, and clothed them.” Notice who clothed Adam and Eve in their coats of skin? While Satan left Adam and Eve to make their fig leaves apron by themselves, God personally clothed them. In order to clothe a person in coats of skin ( presumably ) an animal sacrifice would have had to be made. There is tremendous symbolism in this with regards to our Savior, Jesus Christ. He would perform the ultimate sacrifice and inevitably die for our sins. His atonement is the only thing that will be able to truly "cover" our sins/mistakes. Atonement means to cover. "Each of us can be covered through the atonement of the Savior. A covering that provides warmth, comfort, and blots out our sins." ( YouTube video - Aprons of Fig Leaves and Coats of Skins.) New Month - New Goals

 It's August!! This is very exciting for two reasons 1. It is my birthday month!!!! 2. It is a fresh start to go after your goals! Each month, I like to come up with an overall theme for how I want the month to go. Last month, it was expand your vision. This month it is. . . . This month, I want to focus on being grateful. I have been blessed with so much, and I want to be better at recognizing and thanking those in my life. I have started a gratitude journal and every Sunday, I want to send a thank you card to someone who has been on my mind. I also want to minimize the amount of complaining I do. I will admit, I love to complain. But I do believe in what Terri Savelle Foy said, "When you complain you remain."  Time to move forward! Each month, I also pick a scripture to review often.
