~ Elf on the Shelf Day Fourteen ~

Today Noel hid all the candy canes that were on the tree. Hannah and her cousin Brynn had to find all of them and return them to the tree.

~ Slow Cooker Lasagna ~

My favorite dinner of all time is lasagna. I have it every birthday without fail. Over the years, I have tried to master lasagna, and although mine will never be as good as my Mum's, After piecing together a few different recipes,I have found a version that I love, and bonus like making. It is quick, easy, and basically fool proof.

Ingredients
*2lbs of ground beef or turkey.
*2 jars of your favorite spaghetti sauce
*ricotta cheese
*cottage cheese
(I use the big container of ricotta and the medium size container of cottage)
*2 cups of mozarella cheese
*sour cream
*1 bag of spinach
*1 box of lasagna noodles (NOT the oven ready kind)

*To make the red sauce : simply brown your meat, strain, and stir in your spaghetti sauce.

*To make the cheese mixter : in a medium bowl combine the ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, 1 cup of mozarella cheese, and two generous spoonfuls of sour cream (if you love or hate sour cream feel free to add more or take away altogether.)

Assembly
(I always begin by spraying my slow cooker with cooking spray)

1. On the bottom of your slow cooker add a small layer of red sauce.

2. Add a layer of noodles.

3. Add a fourth of your red sauce

4. Add a third of your spinach

5. Add a third of your cheese mixture

6. Add a layer of noodles and
repeat red sauce, spinach, cheese mixture,

7. Add a layer of noodles and
repeat red sauce, spinach, cheese mixture

8. Add a layer of noodles

9, Add your final fourth of red sauce

10. Top with 1 cup of mozarella cheese

cook on low for 3-4 hours

~ A Car Full Of Ham and Elf On The Shelf Day Six ~

I must have looked like a crazy lady when I was loading my car at the store today. I went to the store and bought eight spiral hams. That was it. . . . well apart from a sneaky chocolate orange. It was Lilly, Hannah, my Mum, and me loading eight hams into the cart, onto the converyor belt, back in my cart, and then into the boot of my car. Yep, I got a few looks from a couple people. The strange thing was the cashier didn't ask me anything about them. It makes me wonder how many other people do this around the holidays. Before you go thinking I am crazy, they are not for me. I am organizing my Church's Christmas Party.

I must admit, the girls were amazing as we drove around Victorville, Hesperia, and Apple Valley. I am one proud Mama.

Today Hannah found Noel on a shelf with her shopping list. Noel would like candy canes, chocolates, ornaments for the tree, a new skirt, and an umbrella.

~ Snowflakes and Elf On The Shelf Day Five ~

Today, I made a bunch of snowflakes for my Church's Christmas Party. I love they way they look, but they are really time consuming.
(instructions below on how to make them)

Hannah and I took a break from my snowflake making to make some yummy pizza for dinner. She really is such a cutie.

Today Noel bought Hannah some advent calendars. This way Hannah visually see how many days are left till Santa arrives.

here is how you can make the snowflakes . . .

The most frustrating thing EVER is running out of tape on the last snowflake!

~ Homework and Elf On The Shelf Day Four ~

Monday morning is my designated time to do my schoolwork. I am a student in the BYU-Idaho Pathway Program and loving it. (for more information click here)

Today was especially nice because Hannah watched a movie on her ipad and Lilly took a nap, while I did all of my reading (and there was a lot of it), wrote four pages of notes, and completed the weekly quiz.

Only three more weeks left in this semester!!

Today Hannah found Noel trying to use her cars to drive a sleigh.

On a side note, does anyone else have a husband who loves when their kids wear clothes about being a Daddy's girl, or I love Daddy? I do! This morning I thought I would brighten his Monday with Lilly Belle wearing a Daddy's girl outfit. He loved it!

~ Mickey Mouse Pancakes and Elf On The Shelf Day Three ~

There is only one thing Hannah loves more than a pancake. . . . A Mickey Mouse pancake. My Dad started making Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes for the Grandchildren a couple years ago, and they love them. They have quickly become the only shaped pancake Hannah wants to eat. Secretly, I don't mind because now I don't have to make them.

On Sundays, we go to Church. I love getting the girls all dressed up. They always look cute. but for some reason they look especially cute in their Sunday best.
Trying to take a picture of their cuteness. . .  not so fun.

FINALLY! A good picture of the two of them!

At church today something very cute yet equally bizarre happened. Both the girls fell asleep!
I couldn't resist documenting this phenomenon with a few sneaky pictures.
I truly love going to church. I always leave feeling inspired to be better.

Today Hannah woke up to see Noel attempting to do some Christmas wrapping.

~ Pancake Recipe ~

For my pancakes, I use Easy Basic Pancake Recipe from Martha Stewart.

2 cups of flour
4 tablespoons of sugar
4 teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
2 cups of milk
4 tablespoons of unsalted butter (melted)
2 large eggs

In a bowl mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt - set aside.

In another bowl mix together milk, butter and egg.

Add the dry ingredients and mix together.
(I mix until there are a few lumps left in the mixture)

Heat up griddle on medium heat.
(I spray my griddle with pan before each time I add the pancake mixture)

Spoon the batter onto the griddle.
(I use a 1/4 measuring cup and if I was adding blueberries or chocolate chips I would do that now)

Cook till you see bubbles forming on top.

Flip over and cook for a few minutes.
(both sides should have a light brown color)

Serve on a plate with syrup, and or fruit, bacon, sausage, eggs. . .
