Have you ever noticed how quickly a place can bring back a memory? The smell of fresh bread can transport you to your grandmother's kitchen. A porch swing can remind you of long summer evenings. Even hearing an old screen door slam might bring you back to a house you haven't stepped inside for years. Our homes hold so much more than furniture and photographs. They are where birthdays are celebrated, traditions are born, hard conversations are had, and ordinary days quietly become the stories our families tell for generations. ~bout a books 8.0 read-a-thon~

Bout of Books

I have decided -very last minute- to take part in the bout a books 8.0 read-a-thon.
This is my first ever read-a-thon and I'm excited to get started!

"The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 19th and runs through Sunday, August 25th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 8.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog." - From the Bout of Books team

I like that I choose my reading goals for the week and I'm not in competition with anyone but myself.

My goals are: 1. To read at least 200 pages a day.
2. To update my blog every day with an update on how I'm doing.

The books I have chosen to read are:

1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

2. The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

3. Sirens by Janet Fox

4. The White Queen by Philippa Gregory

IF I finish these four books I want to start Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

I better get reading
