this year I am reading all the talks President Monson gave in General Conference  here are my thoughts on the talks he gave in 1968 April 1968 From Nazareth In this talk President Monson touched on all the things that came out of Nazareth. From Nazareth came :  example sight strength life faith peace courage and Christ It was a really beautiful talk that made me think about what will be said about where I came from. Hopefully from Slough came a righteous daughter of God. From Slough came a devoted wife and mother to three beautiful children. From Slough came the foundation to her testimony. It was neat to think about.  October 1968 Tonga = Love It is evident just how much love President Monson had for the Tongan people (and all people.) He devoted his entire talk to talking about the Tongan people and the love that they have. A couple things I love from this talk were, "Satan ensnares unsuspecting individuals and takes ...

I love this! As soon as I read this, it felt like a light bulb went of in my head.  The light hasn't left me, most likely, I have left it.  A scripture came to mind when I read this and it is Revelation 3:20, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." It is the same idea. When we feel alone, forgotten, or unimportant, the Savior is there. He is always there. We just need to let him in.  If we want to get rid of the darkness then we need to, "stand in holy places and be not moved." Prayer, scripture study, partaking of the sacrament, reading the words of the prophets will all help to keep us in the light.  President Uchtdoft said, "Christ's light brings hope, happiness, and healing." to read this amazing talk click here

this year I am reading all the talks President Monson gave in General Conference  here are my thoughts on the talks he gave in 1967 April 1967 Pioneers Since moving to Utah, I have become a lot more interested in the pioneers. I enjoy listening to stories about them, and have come to appreciate more fully the sacrifices they made in coming to the Salt Lake Valley. I walk around Salt Lake City and try to envision what it would have looked like, felt like, and been like. I love looking at photos from that time, and appreciating the growth that has occurred. This talk was about the pioneers and how we are pioneers today.  President Monson talks about how they trusted in God, and that death was not uncommon among them. I have often wondered why anyone would put themselves, and their families, through such a difficult task. It was a mental and physical toll , and once they arrived in the Salt Lake valley there was more to be done. Lots more. What about toda...

this year I am reading all the talks President Monson gave in General Conference  here are my thoughts on the talks he gave in 1966 April 1966 All Will Live Again I know that my Redeemer lives! President Monson begins his talk by mentioning a family who had just lost their five month old baby. I get so sad when I hear about stories like this; however, this family, and all those who lose love ones, will see them again. All will live again. We can find comfort and peace in knowing that.  "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son" so that we can live again.  October 1966 The Gift of the Polynesians I could tell that President Monson had a big place in his heart for the Polynesian people. His entire talk was directed to what we can learn from them.  He mentioned five gifts that the Polynesians posses that we could learn and benefit from: the gift of song the gift of faith the gift of love the gift of obedien...

this year I am reading all the talks President Monson gave in General Conference  here are my thoughts on the talks he gave in 1965 April 1965 I Was Blind But Now I See This was a great talk all about spiritual darkness, and I felt like it went well with President Uchtdorf's talk from this past conference entitled, Bearers of Heavenly Light. President Monson reminded us that we need to use our "spiritual eyesight." We know what our possibilities are in eternities and we need to be doing everything in our power on earth to achieve them! That part of his talk really made me stop and think. He is right! We do know a little about who we can become and we are to use this life to prepare for that time.  He talked about loving our neighbors (President Monson was a great example in that area.) I loved that he talked about loving our neighbor, but he also mentioned that we need to help them bring their dreams to fulfillment and ambitions to realizations! YES...
