~ Blogmas Day Nine : Sugar Cookies ~

Today Hannah and I made some delicious Sugar Cookies. She loved helping me make, roll, and decorate them. If only I can get her to stop eating the dough!!

Ingredients
one third cup butter or margarine
one third cup shortening
three fourths cup sugar
one teaspoon baking powder
one egg
one teaspoon vanilla
two cups all purpose flour

1. Beat butter and shortening on medium to high speed for thirty seconds.
2. Add sugar, baking powder, and a dash of salt. Beat until all combined, scraping bowl.
3. Beat in egg and vanilla.
4. Beat in as much flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in remaining flour. (or use your hands like Hannah did)

5. Cover and chill dough for three hours or until the dough is easy to handle.
When you are ready to roll your dough pre heat your oven to 375

6. On a lightly floured surface, roll your dough to desired thickness.

6.1. Hannah eat the dough . . . . I do not recommend you eat the dough

7. Use cookie cutters to cut dough into desired shape.
8. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at three hundred and seventy five degrees oven for seven to eight minutes or till edges are firm and bottoms are very lightly browned.

Time to decorate!
